Finally, a conference that will challenge and encourage your high school students

brock_morganAs youth workers we have longed for a more holistic and comprehensive conference for our students. One that is not all hype and little substance. One that doesn’t just inspire or move the student emotionally, but one that engages the mind, helping them begin the process of learning how to think and discover truth on their own. Based on my recent book “The Amazing Next,” we have built a conference that begins a life long journey of what it means to live thoughtfully in a world that is so complex.

Our goal is to help students graduate from high school with a more firm foundation: highly intellectual, deeply spiritual, and rooted in relationships. We love the church and desire to be a strong resource for churches as they build bridges that will empower the transitioning student moving out of the high school ministry and into the world of college and adulthood. Youth groups will not just attend the conference, but will leave with published curriculum and a plan that will aid their ministries in addressing the specific needs of middle school and high school students.

Ultimately, we want to start a movement

This conference and its curriculum will be a support to churches and ministries like yours that are concerned about a generation of students walking away from the faith, or maybe more relevantly, not thriving into adulthood with a strong sense of identity and understanding of truth. Ultimately, we want to start a movement. We long to see students live in such a way, that like the early followers of Jesus, they change their world. They will not only be taught how to think, but how to live life to the fullest.

Dr. Morgan is a popular speaker for conventions and retreats and has worked in full time ministry for over 40 years.  His heart is driven to help leaders discover their potential, learn the language of the culture and create an environment of grace and freedom to become productive followers of Jesus.

Carol is as a vocalist, song writer, producer, mother of three amazing children, and six over the top grandchildren.  She traveled for eight years in the 70’s with a Christian Rock Band, Amplified Version, was then led into youth ministry, and then spent 24 years as a lead pastor’s wife, inspiring many as a worship leader, retreat speaker, and mentor.

Jason has over 20 years of experience working with youth and families and studied at Western Seminary. He is also a popular speaker at various youth and family camps. Currently, Jason is planting a church in Prescott, Wisconsin with his wife and four kids and partnering to form a city wide youth group.

With a history of youth ministry, discipleship and outreach positions, Brooke now leads the Ballston Uprising youth ministry. Her passion is to see students completely released into powerful and purpose-filled identities that God has given them and will stop at almost nothing in order to speak truth and courage into their worlds as they step more and more into the lives they lead.

The Amazing Next Conference Schedule DC

We’re amped to share with you a tentative conference schedule. We believe that students are ready for so much more: Big worship experiences, exciting teaching, audacious laughter, and living life in authentic community. Each General Session will be a big room gathering where fun happens, we are led in worship, and we are taught. There will also be in-depth and thought-provoking breakout seminars where students will gather into smaller groups and journey through the big questions of life. Our hope is that this conference helps lead your students toward becoming thoughtful followers of Jesus who live out a thriving faith into their adult years.

Where to stay.

The shared experience is a huge part of this event, so if you are attending this event in your own city, within about a 30-minute drive, we strongly encourage having small groups stay together in their leaders’ homes to keep the continuity and focus of the weekend. You’ll find that your times together in vans and buses, and wherever you’re staying, will be some of your best times together for processing the experience.

If you’re coming from farther away, we’ll provide a list of motels that have offered a discounted rate and reserved a set number of rooms for The Amazing Next Conference attendees. Just mention the conference when you call to reserve your rooms. All options include a full breakfast, gym and pool on site. Check back soon for the new list!

The Amazing Next Conference FAQs

All the questions you’re asking.

Is The Amazing Next Conference for middle school and high school students?
The event is for middle schoolers and up. We see it as a deeper event but a great opportunity to assimilate and integrate the middle school student with the high school department.

What is the cancellation policy?
All payments made to Generation514 are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend the event you registered for, you may transfer your registration to a different group or to a different Generation514 location for the 2016 season. If you need to cancel the registration, all payments made are non-refundable. If forces beyond our control cause the event to be cancelled, we will do our best to reschedule the event and your purchased tickets will be good for that time.

Can I buy tickets the day of the event?
Yes, as long as there is availability. We recommend you purchase tickets online before you leave your church to ensure we have as much time as possible to prepare for your arrival.

How many adults can/should I bring?
We recommend a 1 to 5 ratio. Plus, for every 5 students (18 and under), 1 adult ticket is free!

What is the post-event curriculum study about?
Our desire is that The Amazing Next is the beginning of an ongoing conversation. By attending the event, you will receive 2 free months of the curriculum that we are so excited about! We will post additional details as the materials are published.

What is included in our cost?
An amazing worship band, professional speakers, student booklets, 2 months of follow-up curriculum, onsite youth worker training, a Friday evening snack, and Saturday lunch.

Will lunch be served on Saturday?
Yes! Plus a snack Friday evening. All other meals are up to you.

Can you accommodate special diets?
Yes! A limited number of gluten free and vegetarian options are available for lunch, however we will not be able to take special orders. After you complete your registration, please email

How do I receive the tickets that I purchased?
You will not need any paper tickets. Once you arrive you will check in at our registration table and receive everything you need.

What if I purchased more tickets than I need?
If you have more tickets than you will actually need, you can post on the The Amazing Next Conference Facebook page and try to sell them to another church. It’ll be your responsibility to call us and let us know who to switch the tickets over to. Otherwise, at the event you’ll need to pick up all the tickets you paid for, and deliver the extras to the church you’re selling them to.
